Sun World Fansipan Legend is located in the southwest of Sa Pa, is a complex of cultural tourism projects, cable car service, entertainment and luxury hotels, located in the majestic natural scenery of Fansipan peak.
This is a combination of modern technology of the world-famous cable car Doppelmayr and Garaventa, ensuring safety in all conditions. After its operation, Sun World Fansipan Legend has been recognized by Guinness as the world’s longest, most advanced and longest cable system, first installed in Asia.
The station of cable car system was designed in Colonial architecture in the nineteenth century with thick walls, high arch windows close to the roof, decorated as a sophisticated castle. Meanwhile, the station is designed with a modern sound with a bar structure, compact as the branches are reaching out to nature. From a distance, the station came like a giant leaf bending itself around the bird’s nest in the ravine.

Sunworld Fansipan Legend Cable Car System has been recognized with 02 world records– the world’s longest 3-line cable car system (6292.5m long) and cable car system has the highest altitude difference in the world (1410m). The system consists of 33 cabins with the capacity to transport up to 2,000 passengers per hour. Each cabin is like a small bus, carrying from 30 to 35 guests.

Best time to visit Sun World Fansipan Legend?
The best time to visit Sunworld Fansipan Legen is from October to November or mid-March to early April. The weather in Sapa around October is very beautiful and also the season of ripe rice, you can admire the terraced fields dyed in yellow when taking the cable car.
From March to April, you will be able to see the beautiful azalea forest blooming like a picture.
Summer is also the season of falling water. The terraced fields are drained to prepare for a new season. On these days, you will be able to admire the beauty of the water pouring into the layers of layers as a natural picture.
If you go in December or January, your experience may not be perfect because then Sapa is very cold and cloudy, so it will affect your vision. However, it might compensate with the snow. This is one of the few places in Vietnam where you can see snow.
How to go to Fansipan cable car?
If you want to trek sapa and want to see the beautiful scenery, you can start from the Sapa Church to the Silver Falls intersection, turn left onto Nguyen Chi Thanh and go straight to Fansipan Legend (about 1,7 km). With lots of signs along the road, you will get to the cable car station easily.
Or you can hire a taxi to get to the station. However, the taxi fare in Sapa is much expensive than it is in the lower land, so expect to pay 17,000 VND/ km instead of 10-12K/km as usual.
Since March 2018, Muong Hoa mountain climbing train linking Sapa town center to Fansipan cable car station was inaugurated. With a total length of about 2 km, this is the longest and most impressive mountain railway in Vietnam.
The train departs from the MGallery hotel in Sapa and ends the journey on the Fansipan cable car station. The train goes through a number of tunnels, crosses via viaducts and offers views of the majestic natural beauty of Muong Hoa valley and peaceful villages. The fare for Muong Hoa mountain climbing train is 70,000 VND/ person.

1. Sunworld Fansipan Cable Car Price
According to the official website of Sunworld, the price for Fansipan Cable Car – Sun world Fansipan Legend as follows:
- Fansipan Cable Car
- Adults: 700.000 VND/ pax
- Children (1.1, -1.3m): 500.000 VND/pax
- Children under 1.1m: Free
- Muong Hoa Moutain Train:
- Funicular ticket – Way up: 70.000 VND/pax
- Funicular ticket – Way down: 80.000 VND/pax
Please note: The cable car will not take you to the top so you want to touch the landmark at the top of Fansipan you have 2 options, either climb 600 stone steps or buy a train ticket for Do Quyen Funicular Station with the ticket price of 100,000 VND. With the later options, you need to buy tickets right at the same time as the station platform with the cable car.
You can either buy the tickets at Sun Plaza Counter at Fansipan Street, Sapa Town, Lao Cai ( opposite to Sapa Church)
2. Operating hours of the cable car:
7h30: start welcoming guests;
16h30: stop accepting guests;
17h: invite visitors from the mountain.
The ideal time of day to visit is at midday or early afternoon. At that time, the sky is clear, the temperature is also higher, so you can enjoy the panoramic view of Sapa.
3. You should dress warmly
Because the higher you go, the lower the temperature, especially going in the rainy months, it will be very cold. If you go during the dry season, you should wear a water-resistant jacket as the clouds sometimes spill over the top of the mountain to form rain or damp mist. I went right on the rainy day so raincoats and rain boots were indispensable.
